Mervent Natur’zoo in Mervent (25 minutes):
In the heart of the Mervent Forest are over 200 animals (50 different species) that can be spotted roaming the extensive woodlands of the Natur’zoo. There are lions, tigers, giraffes, wolves, bears, monkeys and countless other species for the kids (big and small) to discover. There is also a large play area and mini-farm.
Aerial Adventure Park (25 minutes):
Another of the many things for the kids to do in the Mervent Forest, the aerial adventure park features four course through the trees, bungy jumping as well as a childrens play area and lots of other fun activities.
Aquarium ‘Le 7eme Continent’ in Talmont Saint Hilaire (40 minutes):
The 7th Continent is a state-of-the-art aquarium, unique in Europe. A series of 12 m long aquariums, containing a total volume of some 200,000 litres of sea water provide a spectacular natural home for over 3,500 fish of 400 different species.
Château des Aventuriers in Avrille (30 minutes):
The Château des Aventuriers features four themed adventure trails in and around the chateau ‘Round the World’, ‘Pirate Treasure’, ‘History’ and Dinosaurs and Prehistory’. Playground and fun games for the kids as well as the ‘Round the World’ adventure trail exclusively for the 3-7 year olds.
Indian Forest in Moutiers les Mauxfaits (35 minutes):
Adventure courses, harness-free courses, zip-lines, paintball, mini-golf, pony rides, the Mysteries of the Lambert Forest, bungy jumping and other fun challenges await at Indian Forest!
Atlantic Toboggan in Saint Hilaire de Riez (65 minutes):
Set beside a lake with a variety of waterslides, a giant wave pool, 100 m white water raft course, children’s fun pool, jacuzzi, whirlpools and geysers, Atlantic Toboggan is a great day out for the kids and all the family. Free for children under 3.
Vendee Steam Train in Mortagne sur Sèvre (40 minutes):
A 2½ hour journey back in time from Mortagne sur Sèvre to Les Herbiers and back again on the Chemin de Fer de la Vendee. Activities for children aged 5-13 and you can enjoy lunch or dinner in the authentic ‘Orient Express’ carriage. Lots of spectacular scenery along the way including crossing three valleys on viaducts.
