PUY DU FOU

Best described as a living museum, Puy du Fou attracts millions of visitors every year to it's multitude of spectacular live shows, it's a must do while in the Vendée.

THE BEACHES

Just North of the lovely seaside town of La Tranche sur Mer is Les Conches, a stunning golden sand beach which backs onto beautiful dunes and pine forest. Also one of the most popular surf spots in the area.

Built in 1580, Chateau Terre Neuve is renowned for its monumental fireplace, stonecarved ceilings, wood-panelling, gilded suns from Louis XIV’s bedchamber, original paintings, furniture, and more.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Around twenty minutes from MDM is the Mervent Forest, with over 5000 hectares of forest and 200 kilometers of trails crisscrossing through the forest and around the lake.

MARAIS POITEVIN

Of great historic importance since the Middle Ages, this landscape with its thousands of waterways throbs to the rhythm of the many vessels which criss-cross the marshlands as they transport visitors into an enchanting natural world.

LA CHABOTTERIE

A historical site where there is now a museum and the Thierry Drapeau two star Michelin restaurant as well as beautiful gardens to explore. Well worth an afternoon and evening, reservations required.

LE MACIS

Located a five minute walk from Manoir du Moulin in Sainte Hermine, Le Macis offers some very nice dishes at reasonable prices and has a great patio space for those warm summer evenings.

LE SAINT GEORGES

Just down the road in Saint-Juire we have the Saint-Georges. Chef Willy Lefay focuses on innovation while respecting tradition, often using long forgotten ingredients and concepts in his gourmet creations.

L'ARDOISE GOURMANDE

Lucon is approximately fifteen minutes from Sainte Hermine and here you will find a variety of restaurants of which L’Ardoise Gourmande is simply one of the best.

AU FIL DES SAISONS

At Au Fil des Saisons in Lucon they use local and seasonal products hence they change their menu as the seasons change. Dine in their cool garden patio in the summer under the shade of the trees.
